The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program at Datta Meghe Medical College, Nagpur is a 5.5-year undergraduate medical degree comprising 4.5 years of academic study followed by 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship. The program is affiliated with Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research (DMIHER), Wardha, a Deemed-to-be University, and follows the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The curriculum is designed to develop competent, ethical, and patient-centric medical professionals through a combination of classroom learning, laboratory practicals, simulation-based training, early clinical exposure, and hospital-based education. Students gain comprehensive knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Community Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, and other clinical specialties.
Clinical training is conducted at the attached Shalinitai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre, a 1,020-bed multi-specialty teaching hospital, where students receive hands-on experience in patient diagnosis, treatment planning, emergency medicine, surgical procedures, and multidisciplinary healthcare. Regular ward postings, outpatient department (OPD) exposure, operation theatre observations, case discussions, and bedside teaching help students develop practical clinical skills from the early stages of the program.
Apart from academics, the MBBS program emphasizes medical research, evidence-based practice, communication skills, ethics, professionalism, community healthcare, and digital learning. Students actively participate in medical conferences, research projects, health awareness campaigns, workshops, seminars, skill development programs, and rural health postings to enhance their professional competencies.
The compulsory one-year internship enables students to work across various clinical departments under expert supervision, providing practical experience in patient management and preparing them for independent medical practice, postgraduate education, and diverse healthcare careers in India and abroad.

Datta Meghe Medical College (DMMC), Nagpur is a constituent institution of Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research (DMIHER), a NAAC A++ Accredited Deemed-to-be University. Established in 2020, the college is located at Wanadongri, Hingna Road, Nagpur, and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) for offering the MBBS program with a sanctioned intake of 150 students per year.
