Emphasis on Fundamentals

The course adopts a multi-dimensional pedagogy that has a blend of theoretical knowledge marinated in the flavours of practical nuances. The program emphasizes on basic concepts through compulsory courses in the first year and integrated core and elective courses from major and minor domains in the second year.

IT Integration

IT applications are offered in all functional areas of the management. There are compulsory courses such Management Information System based on ERP for hands-on learning. Modules like ERP for Supply Chain Management are also integrated with elective courses. IT software packages like SPSS and modules on SAP, along with Industry databases like Ace Equity are integrated in the curriculum to offer best and the latest of the business world to the students.

Outcome Based Education

JBS follows a student centric approach to imparting management education to ensure transparency and focus of class room delivery is sought to be achieved by embedding identified outcomes in each course. The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), Program Outcomes (POs) and the Course Outcomes (COs) ensure quality education and improve employability quotient among students.

Corporate Internship

Students at JBS undergo a rigorous 8 weeks corporate internship of 4 credits to gain practical knowledge of the career they wish to pursue and get invaluable work experience. Corporate Internship enables students to gain an understanding of the challenges faced by managers in different contexts. In particular, it is important that budding managers of the future understand the implications of different economic, political, social and ecological environments on business sustainability strategies and solutions. It also facilitates the students in testing what they have learnt in the foundation courses in their first year. The internship also provides students an exposure to corporate life. Each student has to submit individual corporate internship report and make presentation before panel of faculty members for its evaluation. There are three components in Corporate Internship report; Industry Analysis, Financial Analysis and Research/Live Project assigned by corporate mentors.

Internship

Social internship aims at creating awareness in prospective managers about their responsibility to society and humanity. It sensitizes the students about social issues so that they emerge as socially conscious managers. It includes modular teaching as well as field interaction with NGO of repute. Each student in the program is required to do a social internship for 4 weeks gaining 2 credits. It requires each student to seek out a relevant NGO and work with them to learn about the social issues, activities and finally apply his/her managerial learning to improve the effectiveness of the NGO.

Personality Development

JBS curriculum is designed for holistic development of students, both at individual and group levels. The learning schedule includes time for self study, group study and developmental activities like functional clubs, competitions, presentations, case studies etc. to boost self confidence and motivation.

Employability Skill Enhancement Courses

Students at JBS have to go through four compulsory courses on self management, analytical and technical skills, social and professional skills, especially designed to develop their employability skills. These courses aim to help the students strike the right balance by imparting the soft skills which is essential for career success. It hones their skills to do better in selection process that gives them an edge over others and increase the scope of their employability. It also help them to perform better in their professional career.

Trimester 1

The first year focuses on foundational management subjects like Organizational Behaviour

and Corporate Finance.

Trimester 2

All courses are compulsory

and the trimester system includes 10 to 12 weeks of study per trimester.

Trimester 3

Students are required to complete a summer internship after the first year.

Trimester 4

The second year involves completing a few more compulsory courses along with a selection of elective courses from various functional and sectoral areas.

Trimester 5

Students must also complete a comprehensive viva-voce examination.

Trimester 6

While a summer internship occurs between the two years

the second year also involves a social and summer internship.

On receipt of admission offer letter and to secure the seat a partial academic fee for semester-1 as mentioned in the Admission Offer Letter, is required to be deposited as per the instructions given in Admission Offer Letter.

The balance fee for semester-1 shall be payable on the day of registration. Fee for every semester shall be payable on the registration dates as per academic calendar.

If a student does not register on the specified date in 1st semester, he/she will have noclaim on the seat.

Engineering & Construction

The Engineering and Construction wing of the Group is an acknowledged leader in the construction of multi-purpose River Valley and Hydropower projects. The Group is the only integrated solution provider for Hydropower projects in the country with a track record of strong project implementation in different capacities.

Cement

Jaypee Group is the 3rd largest cement producer in the country. The Group produces special blend of Portland Pozzolana Cement under the brand name ‘Jaypee Cement’. Its cement division currently operates modern, computerized process control cement plants with an aggregate capacity of 35.80 MnTPA. The Group is in the midst of capacity expansion of its cement business in Northern, Southern, Central, Eastern and Western parts of the country and is slated to have a production capacity of 37 MnTPA in FY 13-14 (expected) with Captive Thermal Power plants totaling 672 MW.

Power

The Group is India’s largest private sector Hydropower producer and is on its way to be an integrated power producer with expansion in Thermal, Wind and Power Transmission. Jaypee Group’s operational power plants are 300 MW Baspa-II (Himachal Pradesh), 400 MW Vishnuprayag (Uttarakhand) and 1000 MW Karcham Wangtoo Himachal Pradesh with operational hydropower capacity being 1700 MW. The total power, including hydro and thermal, generation will be 3520 MW March 2014 and 5500 MW by March 2015.

Hospitality

The Group owns and operates 4 Five Star Hotels, two in New Delhi and one each in Agra and Mussoorie with a total capacity of 644 rooms. Another 5 Star luxury with 170 rooms state-of-the-art resort and Spa is operational in collaboration with Six Senses at Greater Noida.

Real Estate

Jaypee Group is a pioneer in the development of India’s first golf centric Real Estate. Jaypee Greens – a world class fully integrated complex at Greater Noida consists of an 18 hole Greg Norman Golf Course. Stretching over 452 acres, it also includes residences, commercial spaces, corporate park, entertainment and nature in abundance. Jaypee Greens also launched its second project in Noida in November 2007. India’s First Wish Town at Noida, is an integrated township spread over 1162 acres of land comprising one 18 hole and two 9 hole golf facility & world class residences.

Expressways. The Group has constructed 165 km, Noida to Agra, 6/8 lane Yamuna Expressway Project and ribbon development on 6175 acres. The project envisages ribbon development along the expressway at 5 locations totaling 25 million square metres for residential/industrial/institutional purposes and shall trigger multidimensional, socio-economic development in Western U.P., besides strengthening the Group’s presence in real estate segment in this decade.

Sports

The Group has hosted India’s first ever Formula OneTM Grand Prix on 30th October, 2011. In addition to F1, the track which has been designed by world renowned architect “Hermann Tilke” is also expected to host other top-level international motor sports events.

Education

The Group currently provides education across all spectrum of the learning curve through 34 schools, 5 ITI’s, 1 Polytechnic, 1 Advanced Skill Development Centre, 1 PG college, 1 B.Ed college and 4 universities catering to over 35,000 students.
